Psychological Therapy

We are trained in a range of evidenced-based psychological treatment modalities for children, adolescents, and families. Some issues are resolved within a few sessions, while others may require a longer commitment in order to achieve the desired therapeutic gains. Therapy is a personal experience - we utilise a tailored, balanced, and creative mix of techniques to meet your child’s unique needs and we remain adaptive and responsive to their changing needs over time. Sessions may involve your child alone, you and your child, and/or your own individual sessions. We collaborate with medical professionals, agencies, and schools in a timely way, where indicated. Therapy for children often includes family involvement, depending on the needs of your child. Therapy is provided for children 5 years and over. For younger children, parent and/or joint child/parent sessions may be considered.

We provide psychological therapy for a range of challenges including:

  • Mood and emotional disorders such as depression, poor self-esteem, grief and loss, and emotional dysregulation.

  • Anxiety disorders like separation anxiety, specific phobias, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, performance anxiety and school refusal.

  • Attention and behavioural difficulties including behavioural and learning problems, ADHD, and anger management issues.

  • Autism including understanding Autism, difficulties with making friends, social skills support, coping with bullying or exclusion.

  • Relationship difficulties including conflict resolution, social skills, difficulties with friends, parent/child relationship challenges, and parenting support.
